Lafayette Day Wreath Laying Ceremony

Marquis de Lafayette Day is officially September 6, his birthday, as proclaimed by Georgia’s Governor, House of Representatives, and Senate. Named after Lafayette’s home near Paris, Chateau de LaGrange, the City of LaGrange, Georgia plans to celebrate the occasion! The celebrations will begin Friday, September 6, as visitors gather at the town square beside the statue of Lafayette for the second annual Wreath Laying and Commemoration Ceremony. Projects on Lafayette from ThINC Academy will be recognized, students from Callaway Middle School will perform, and the Sons of the American Revolution colour guard will fire a salute with Revolutionary War-era muskets.
