Troup County Safety Council Quarterly Meeting, June 28, 2019
The Troup County Safety Council's mission is to establish a cooperative effort to educate and influence people and the organizations they represent, thereby promoting a commitment to and ultimately accomplishing incident free operations.
The quarterly meeting will feature Dr. Robert Thomas, Professor Emeritus of Auburn University, who will discuss "A New Generation Z Has Changed to Paradigm for Safety & Ergonomics Training."
Dr. Rob Thomas holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and Master of Science and PhD in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M. Following his undergraduate experience, he served as an Industrial Engineer at Aluminum Company of America before serving twenty-one years in the US Army as a Research and Development Officer. Upon completion of graduate studies, Dr. Thomas began his teaching career at Auburn University in 1989. He became Professor Emeritus in January 2010. Dr. Thomas was awarded the Birdsong Merit Teaching Award, William F. Walker Merit Teaching Award, and Fred H. Pumphrey Teaching Award while at Auburn.
He is a current member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Human Factors and Ergonomics Association, American Industrial Hygiene Association and American Society of Engineering Education.
