DESCRIPTION:This quarterly meeting will feature guest speaker\, Chuck Wade. Chuck is the Executive Director of The Council on Alcohol and Drugs. He has been the state director of Drugs Don't Work in Georgia for the past twenty years. Previously\, Mr. Wade was a police officer for fifteen years\, working as an undercover narcotics agent for eleven of those years. He won awards from the DEA and from the FBI for outstanding service in the field of law enforcement.\n\n\n\nSince Mr. Wade became the state director of the Drugs Don't Work program in 1996\, Drugs Don't Work in Georgia has been adopted by sixty-eight counties in Georgia and was named one of the 2002 Exemplary Substance Abuse Prevention Programs by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention\, the National Center for the Advancement of Drug Prevention\, and the Centers for the Application of Prevention Technologies. \n\n\n\nWe are thrilled to have him in LaGrange for this safety council meeting! \n\n\n\n\nThe Troup County Safety Council's mission is to establish a cooperative effort to educate and influence people and the organizations they represent\, thereby promoting a commitment to and ultimately accomplishing incident free operations.
