August 2026: Safety Council
Join us on Wednesday, August 26 for our Q3 Safety Council meeting featuring a Warehouse Safety Training led by Derek Woodham, West Region Manager & Regional Group Leader with the Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP) at Georgia Tech.
This session will provide practical strategies for recognizing and preventing common warehouse hazards, including powered industrial truck (forklift) safety, ergonomics, safe material handling, slips, trips and falls, and other workplace safety best practices. Whether your organization operates a warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing facility, you'll leave with valuable tools to help strengthen your safety culture.
This training is part of a statewide workplace safety initiative through Georgia Tech and is funded by an OSHA Susan Harwood Grant, making it completely free for manufacturers and distribution centers. Learn more here.
The Troup County Safety Council's mission is to establish a cooperative effort to educate and influence people and the organizations they represent, thereby promoting a commitment to and ultimately accomplishing incident free operations.
