Highlighting Contemporary Art in Georgia- Seams to Be: New Approaches to Textile Techniques Exhibition Dates: February 20, 2026- April 11, 2026 Opening Reception: February 20, 2026 from 6-8pm, FREE and open to the public. At the LaGrange Art Museum 112 Lafayette Parkway LaGrange, GA 30240 Highlighting Contemporary Art in Georgia- Seams to Be: New Approaches to Textile Techniques is a major traveling exhibition organized by the Georgia Museum of Art and guest curator Didi Dunphy, featuring 13 of Georgia’s most innovative artists working in fiber and textiles–including beloved LaGrange artist Annie Greene. LaGrange’s deep roots as a textile town make this exhibition especially meaningful. For generations, our community’s mills and makers have shaped the region’s economy, identity, and culture. Seams to Be honors that legacy while showcasing how today’s artists transform traditional fiber and handwork techniques into bold, contemporary expressions. Organized by the Georgia Museum of Art, University of Georgia. This program is supported in part by the W. Newton Morris Charitable Foundation and the Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art.
